2008 ACF Awards
Every year ACF National recognizes seven Culinary Professionals with there top honor awards. These awards are earned in one of two ways, either through Nomination or through Competition. The ACFCCA has, as members, some of the top Culinary Professionals in the Nation. If you know of someone who should be recognized for one of these awards or if you are interested in competing with others from across the nation, than apply now. The ACFCCA selects one candidate for each of these awards to represent the state of Colorado at the Western Regional Conference. From there, the Competitors will go on to compete for National titles at the National Convention.
Award Winners Announced at 2008 ACF Western Regional Conference
St. Augustine, Fla., April 24, 2008 - The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), the largest association of professional culinarians in North America,
honored its members and chapters at the 2008 ACF Western Regional Conference held at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center, Salt Lake City, April 19-21.
The 2008 ACF Western Regional Conference award recipients listed below will compete for the national title against their winning regional counterparts at the 2008 ACF National Convention in Las Vegas, July 14-17.

ACF National Nomination Awards
Nominations now being accepted by the ACFCCA for the following awards:
- 2009 Chef Professionalism
- 2009 Herman G Rusch
- 2009 Achievement of Excellence
Candidate eligibility is outlined in the attached applications. All nominees must present a completed application packet to the ACFCCA by October 1st, 2008. A representative will be chosen by the ACFCCA Board of Directors at the October meeting to represent the State of Colorado at the 2009 Western Regional. Winners will receive from the ACFCCA paid registration to the 2008 Western Regional Conference.
Chef Professionalism
Objective: To recognize the ACF chef who best exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism in today's kitchen, through certification, continuing education and training, culinary competitions, development of young culinarians and community involvement. This award is to honor active, working chefs who run the day-today operations of a full-service dining facility and supervise its kitchen brigade.
Herman G Rusch
Objective: The Hermann G. Rusch Chef’s Achievement Award honors chefs who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to both ACF and the culinary profession. Such chefs, through their involvement with and contributions to ACF and our craft, have advanced the culinary profession and ensured the enrichment of students, our members, and those in our profession.
Achievement of Excellence
Objective: This award recognizes foodservice establishments that exemplify commitment to excellence in foodservice for their specific marketplace.
