2012 - Student Team Competition

Trophy and Student Group

In one of the most exciting  ACF student team competitions in many years, Colorado Mountain College, coached by Chef Kevin Clarke, CEC, took home the Gold and will represent ACF Colorado at the ACF Western Region Conference in Coeur d Alene.  But this is just part of the story.

"Each student team really stepped up their game this year.  This is one of the best student competitions that we have seen in some time", stated Chef Robert Meitzer, CEC, AAC, ACF Judge.  All teams took home medals: Pueblo Community College, Bronze; International Culinary School at the Art Institute, Bronze; Western Colorado Community College, Silver; Escoffier Culinary School, Silver and Colorado Mountain College, Gold.

Thank you to Chef David Hendricksen, Director of the International School of Culinary Arts, Chef Shannon Hayashi, Instructor and all of the AI students who worked so hard to make sure the host site was perfect for the competition. Also a special thank you to Chef Jon St. Peter, ACFCCA, Competition Chairman for putting this competition together.

Teams; Pueblo Community College, Colorado Mountain College, Escoffier Culinary School, Western Colorado Community College and the International Culinary School at the Art Institute.
Judges: Chef William Franklin, CMC, AAC; Chef Robert Meitzer, CEC, AAC; and  Chef Travis Smith, CEC, AAC.

Great comraderie, great spotlight on the Colorado Culinary Community. An awesome showcase on why one should belong to the American Culinary Federation Colorado Chefs Association.
